FAQ

Fair questions.

Everything people ask before they start. If something here is not answered, the fastest way to find out is to start and watch what lands in your inbox.

01Is this spam?
No. Each email is short, personal, plain text, about one specific role the company is hiring for right now, and sent from your own address at low daily volume. If a company asks not to hear from you, that is honored.
02It sends from my email?
Yes. You connect your Gmail or Outlook and every email sends from your real address. Replies land in your inbox like any other email.
03Can I control the tone?
Yes. The emails are written to sound like you, and you set the tone. Plain text, short sentences, one question.
04How many emails go out per day?
Up to 25 a day on either plan, and you set your own number below that. The ceiling is deliberate. This sends from your personal mailbox, so the thing being protected is your own sender reputation, and that is what decides whether your emails land in an inbox or a spam folder.
05Can I send fewer than 25?
Yes, and plenty of people should. You set your daily number in settings and can change it whenever you want. A brand new mailbox also ramps up gradually over its first two weeks no matter what you set, because going straight to a high volume from a fresh address is the fastest way to get filtered.
06What if a company does not want contact?
Opt-outs are honored. That company is not contacted again.
07Can I cancel?
Anytime. Plans are monthly. Cancel and you are not billed again.
08What is Always First?
It watches for roles that match what you are looking for. The moment a matching one goes live it works out who the hiring manager is, finds their address, and sends a short personal email from your own account introducing you. The point is to start a conversation before other candidates have found the posting.
09Will I really be first every time?
Nobody can promise that. What we can say is that a matching role is picked up as soon as it appears and your email goes out immediately, which leaves very little room for someone to get there ahead of you.
10Does it guarantee interviews?
No, and be careful with any tool that says otherwise. What it changes is when you are seen and who sees you, which is the part of the process most candidates never get any control over.
11How does it find roles so early?
Most roles appear on a company's own careers system before they spread anywhere else. That is where they get picked up, rather than waiting for them to surface in a search, an alert, or a feed.
12How does it find the hiring manager?
It reads the role, the team, the seniority, and the company, then works out who the opening most likely reports into. The goal is never a generic careers inbox. It is the person who has a say in who gets interviewed.
13Does it apply to jobs for me?
No, on purpose. Applications need judgment and accuracy that should not be handed off. Always First does the part where being early actually changes the result: finding the role, finding the person, and getting you in front of them.
14Do I still apply through the company site?
Usually yes, and ideally after your email has already landed. Then your application arrives attached to a name they recognise instead of arriving cold. Every role it pursues shows up in your dashboard with a link to the official application.
15How is this different from other job search tools?
Most of them help you do faster what everyone else is already doing: search, rewrite, apply. This is built around reaching the hiring team first, which is a different job entirely.
16Can I review emails before they send?
No, and that is the trade. Waiting for approval on each one gives away the speed the whole thing depends on. You control what matters up front: the roles, the companies, the tone, and the daily volume.
17Will my emails get flagged as spam?
It is a genuine one-to-one email from your own account, about a real role, sent at low volume. That is normal human email behavior rather than bulk sending, which is why the risk is low. Nobody can promise a filter will never misjudge a message, but this is the shape of email filters are built to let through.
18Is my email account secure?
You never hand over a password. You grant limited permission through your provider, the credentials stay with them, and you can revoke access whenever you want.
19What happens when someone replies?
The conversation is yours. They reply to you directly, in your own inbox, and you take it from there. The job here is to open the door, not to talk for you.
20Can I pause it?
Any time. If your search changes, or you get deep into interviews somewhere, you can stop new outreach without closing your account.
21Can I search for several kinds of role at once?
Yes, and you can change what you are looking for whenever your search shifts. Roles, locations, seniority, remote preferences, and the companies you want left alone are all yours to set.
22Can I exclude certain companies?
Yes. Your current employer, past employers, anywhere you have already applied, or anywhere you would simply rather not be contacted.
23What does it cost?
Pro is $99 a month and Premium is $149. Both are month to month with no contract. Hiring a person to search, research, and reach out on your behalf costs thousands.
24Will this stop working if everyone does it?
If every candidate found roles at the source, worked out the hiring manager, and wrote to them before applying, the edge would shrink. That is not the market we are in, and it is not close.

Somewhere tonight, your next job goes live.

The question is whether you hear about it in the morning or three days after the shortlist was built.
